Science - Scientists

Maurice and Katia Krafft were some of the best known volcanologists in history. We are indebted to them, indeed, for the work they did to add to our knowledge of volcanoes. They were perhaps the most daring of all who have ever studied the beautiful and dangerous phenomenon of volcanic activity. Their life-risking pictures and videos allow us to peer into the inner earth like we have never before been able.

It is regrettable, but fitting, that their lives should have ended while doing the very thing they loved the most - observing a volcano.

I challenge you to find out more about their lives and their work, or to research and learn about other scientists who have studied the earth.
