Chemistry

Here is Yours Truly burning magnesium. Of course, this is a chemical reaction as we spoke of in class yesterday, and it displays just how appropriate it is for pyrotechnicians to use metals in their fireworks displays.

Taste Tests

Kyle, Connor, and A.J. had a question: "Whose taste buds work better - adults or children?" The video below will describe for you the process that these three guys followed to discover the answer. As much as I hate to admit it, my taste buds do not work as well as they used to. Thanks to these students for their efforts.

PostHeaderIcon Redesign Video Cast

The Cell

I asked my students to redesign the cell, and they really met my challenge with great energy and creativity. Grant, however, really went over the top. He asked if he could make his "cell" three dimensional, and my answer was "sure". I didn't expect to see such effort. I am quite pleased with Grant's accomplishment. I think it helps us understand science better, and specifically, the cell. Thanks to Grant for all his hard work.
